Frostpunk 2 developer 11 Bit Studios has released a new gameplay trailer for the game today, confirming a few key details. This new two minute gameplay trailer showcases a game that looks just as stressful the original one, if not more.
While the trailer doesn’t waste any time to showcase the seriousness of the game, it’s only in the second half of it that we truly see what might make this survival city-builder more stressful than the original one. The trailer embedded above shows a new in-game voting system for laws, wherein a law gets rejected due to the lack of votes.
This is different from the original Frostpunk game in which you could declare and sign your own laws and bring them to power, with very minimal consequences. That doesn’t seem to be the case in the sequel, which is already becoming a topic of debate.
The first half of trailer seems equally stressful as it showcases the character, who takes on the title of ‘Steward’, having to make plenty of difficult decisions for the population. Seems like we’ll have a lot of hungry mouths to feed after the great storm of the first city-builder.
Another interesting piece of information revealed by the new gameplay trailer is that the game will be coming to PC Game Pass on day one when it launches some time this year. Yes, it’ll also be heading to Steam and other marketplaces, and you can even expect to be available on Xbox Game Pass for consoles when the Xbox Series X|S version launches later.
Frostpunk 2 is currently slated for a release within the first half of the year.
