The Delta Emulator app has already made quite the splash in the smartphone space with its iOS debut. It was quick to skyrocket to the top spot in Apple’s free apps list, and it’s still going strong with no signs of slowing down. The developer behind the popular the app, obviously, wants to keep the momentum going, and he plans to make it available soon on Apple’s iPad as well.
That’s right, the developer of Delta Emulator, Riley Testut, has confirmed that he’s working on an iPad-specific version of the fan-favorite Delta Emulator app. In fact, it’s “near completion,” and will be released with the Delta Emulator version 1.6. This is great news for those who wanted to experience the emulator to play retro games on a bigger screen.

There’s no official confirmation on when the Delta version 1.6 will be out, but it looks like it’ll be out sooner than later. But if you’re among the impatient lot that can’t wait to use the emulator on a big screen, then you can become Testut’s Patreon supporter, and grab it through AltStore.
The iOS version of the app, in case you’re wondering, already works on the iPad and even the Vision Pro. A native iPadOS version of the Delta Emulator, however, would let it take advantage of the full screen for better skins and gameplay experience. Future plans for the app include support for “device-to-device” multiplayer, which would improve upon the single-device multiplayer feature that it already has. It’ll be interesting to see how it improves the experience of using the app, especially for multiplayer gaming sessions.
I don’t expect the app feel or function any different from its iOS version, so it’s safe to say that it’ll just be a super-sized Delta Emulator experience that’ll take advantage of the iPad’s screen real-estate. That means, the setup process will essentially be the same for both, and you’ll also be able to use the same controllers that we recommended to be used with the iOS and Mac version of Delta Emulator.
