Shonen Jump has officially announced one of the most anticipated anime adaptations in its official press segment on YouTube. Sakamoto Days, the action comedy manga written and illustrated by Yuto Sukuzi, is getting an anime adaptation early next year.

Sakamoto Days anime adaptation details revealed
Firstly, it has been confirmed that the Sakamoto Days anime will be released in January 2025. An official teaser trailer, key visual, and other details have been made public.
It’s about time we witness the once-renowned assassin, Taro Sakamoto, now working as a convenience store clerk and barred from killing take on his enemies in creative ways. Taro gave up on his underworld job to marry the love of his life, but he’s still drawn into his past life from time to time. Check out the teaser trailer for the Sakamoto Days anime.
The anime announcement is tagged by the mangaka thanking the fans. Yuto Suzuki said he’s amazed that his work will be shown on TV. He further added,

The production team also wanted to give manga fans a treat. So, they have revealed that Tomokazu Sugita will be the voice actor for our beloved protagonist, Taro Sakamoto. You might recognize Sugita as the voice of Sakata Gintoki in Gintama and Himejima Gyomei in Demon Slayer Season 4.
No information about the other cast and characters has been released yet. We will update this post once more details are out.

Sakamoto Days will be animated by TMS Entertainment, the studio that’s well-known for producing anime like Dr. Stone, Baki, and Fruits Basket, among others. Here are other staff members for the upcoming anime series:

Sakamoto Days by Yuto Suzuki was first serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in November 2020. The manga has been ongoing for the past four years with more than 150 chapters (17 volumes, with the latest releasing on June 4) available for you to read.
The news about the Sakamoto Days anime first broke when it was listed as an upcoming Netflix release on the licensing news service License Global. It was quickly removed from the list, further confirming fans’ suspicions.
