Delta Emulator is back in the news, except this time it’s not for a very good reason. The developer of the emulator has announced that Delta is getting a new its logo in response to a legal threat by Adobe. That’s right, Adobe — the American multinational computer software company behind programs like Photoshop and After Effects — is said to have warned the developers of Delta Emulator.
Adobe thinks the “D” in Delta Emulator’s logo looks a little too similar to the “A” in its logo, so it has asked Delta to change its logo so it wouldn’t violate the company’s rights. It looks like the developers of the Delta Emulator also received an email from Apple, telling them that Adobe asked it to take down the emulator app.
It doesn’t come as a surprise, though, considering how the old logo did look a lot like Adobe’s “A” that’s been around for quite some time. It may not be identical, but I can see why Adobe might think it looks very similar. Here, take look:

The developers of the Delta Emulator shipped the updated logo with version 1.5.4 update. It’s now live on the App Store, as seen on the screenshot attached below. “Adobe is threatening legal action because they think our logos are too similar — so we changed it!” the developers noted in the update description.

You’d think that an app that emulates Nintendo games on various Apple devices would receive a legal notice from Nintendo, but that’s not the case here. It’s interesting how Adobe decided to remain tight-lipped about this particular matter for so long, and suddenly decided to turn this into a legal battle.
Delta Emulator’s new logo, which looks like a someone cut its original logo in half, is said to be a temporary solution to steer clear of the legal battle. The same has been confirmed by Delta creator Riley Testut, who spoke to TheVerge, and said the new logo will ship with Delta 1.6.
Both the App Store and AltStore versions have been updated with this temporary icon, but the plan is to update them to the final updated logo with Delta 1.6 once it’s finished.

It’ll be interesting to see what the new Delta Emulator logo looks like, as the current one, well, looks a little rough around the edges.
