The Apple App Store has seen some big changes recently, and one of them is loosening its restrictions on game emulators. This has ushered an era of game emulation on iPhone, with the Delta emulator being the first game emulator to become available for free on the App Store. But, there’s a high chance that you will run into the ‘Missing Required DS Files’ error in Delta Emulator. You did, right? Well, there’s an easy way to solve it.
Solve ‘Missing Required DS Files’ error in Delta Emulator
The Delta emulator lets you run Game Boy Advance (GBA) and Nintendo DS games like Pokemon, Super Mario Bros, and many others. While the former runs without issues, the latter sees you installing the required BIOS files to play the games.
The ‘Missing Required DS Files’ error occurs because the Delta emulator does not come with the Nintendo DS BIOS and firmware files pre-installed, and you need to install them manually. So, if you’re someone who needs help downloading and installing the Nintendo DS BIOS files to fix the ‘Missing DS Files’ error in Delta emulator, follow the steps below.
- When you tap to run a Nintendo DS game, you will see the ‘Missing Required DS Files’ error message in a pop-up window. Here, tap on the Import Files option.
- If you accidentally removed the error pop-up, you can go to Settings (cog icon in the top-left) -> Nintendo DS -> DS Bios Files.
- Now, switch to the Safari browser or any browser of your choice and go to this link to download the DS Bios Files. Click the blue ‘Download Nintendo DS Bios & Firmware‘ button here. This is where we got the files from, and it worked.
- Once you have downloaded the files, you will need a Zip & RAR File Extractor tool. We use the Zip Extractor from Penghui Zhao to extract the files, but the app is laden with ads. You can also get an app like iZip to get the job done.
- After extracting the files, move back to the Delta emulator settings location in Step 2.
- Here, tap on bios7.bin, bios9.bin, and firmware.bin and select the required files from the extracted folder. Go through each one at a time, and the Delta emulator will show you a checkmark if the file is valid.
- Once you see three checkmarks, go back to the Delta emulator home screen and tap on the Nintendo DS game you wish to play. It should now work smoothly without any hiccups.
And that’s a wrap. This is the easiest way to fix the ‘Missing DS Files’ error in this popular new game emulator. I ain’t going to keep on going as I’m off to play some Pokemon Black and White on my iPhone. I know, right? We never imagined this day would come, but it is here.
