GTA 6 is at least a year away, but that’s not stopping fans like me from getting excited about every little detail about the game. Seriously, I just can’t wait for Rockstar to let me preorder the game, so I can reserve my unit and start counting the days till it comes out. If you are like me and are wondering when you can preorder GTA 6, then here’s everything you need to know.
Can you preorder GTA 6?
If not, when can you expect?
The answer to this question is no, not right now. GTA 6 has only been announced by Rockstar Games, and it’s said to arrive some time in 2025 with no release date set in stone yet. We are expecting GTA 6 trailer 2 or at least some additional information about the game to drop soon, but I don’t expect the preorders to go live along with those as it would be to early.
That being said, I am not entirely ruling out the possibility of Rockstar Games opening the GTA 6 preorders early, just like they did for GTA 5. That’s right, the GTA 5, in case you don’t know, was originally available for pre-order starting on November 5, 2012. The game, however, didn’t release until September 17, 2013, meaning it was available to preorder for almost a year.
This preorder duration was, technically, due to an unexpected delay in game’s launch, but I just find it pretty wild that GTA 5 sat there in preorders for almost a year. If Rockstar Games is planning to do something similar, then now would be a good time to start GTA 6 preorder. I don’t see that happening any time soon, though.

How much will it cost to reserve the unit?
You may have heard or read rumors about GTA 6 costing as much as $150, but let me tell you that it’s probably not true. Yes, there may be special edition or some sort of a Collector’s Edition of GTA 6 that could potentially cost $150 or even more, but the base game on a standard disc box, should be priced similar to the existing crop of games on the market.
$75 seems like a pretty resonable price for the game, so let’s go with that for now until something changes and we suddenly start to see more expensive games making their way into the market.
Will there be GTA 6 Collector’s Edition?
Yes, probably
There is no official confirmation on this just yet, but it’s safe to assume that GTA 6 will have a Collector’s Edition option. I say that because GTA 5 had both a Special Edition and a Collector’s Edition, and it would only make sense for its successor — which is even more wildly popular — to have similar versions too.
And if you are wondering what the GTA 6 Collector’s Edition variant will include, well, here’s what was inside the GTA 5 Special Edition:
- Collectible steelbook with exclusive artwork
- Stunt Plane Trials
- Blueprint map
- Special Ability Boost
- Bonus outfits, tattoos, cosmetics
- Additional weapons
There is a good chance that GTA 6 Collector’s Edition will have some additional items, but let’s just stick with whats remotely possible and refrain from speculating further.
You should probably hold off on preordering, though
As much as I love preordering games in the anticipation of playing them early, I’ve stopped doing that lately. That’s because we live in a world where game delays and unstable/unplayable ports have become extremely common, and those preordering games aren’t rewarded with a good experience. I am not saying GTA 6 will get delayed, but there is a good chance that iit might be pushed back a little.
