If we talk about the expansion of the Sonic the Hedgehog universe, Paramount may seem speedier than our favorite blue hedgehog right now. More than that, the streamer is ready to show us how Knuckles, the fierce red Echidna warrior, adjusts to the human world. He would rather have his vengeance, though.
Knuckles trailer released by Paramount+
We’re talking about Knuckles instead of Sonic today as the first trailer for his spin-off TV series on Paramount Plus has been released. It sees Knuckles (voiced by Idris Elba) take on the gargantuan task of teaching Wade (Adam Pally) “the ways of the Echidna warrior,” as per the YouTube description. Moreover, this TV series will act a bridge between Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022) and the upcoming third movie (20th December 2024).
The trailer linked above shows Knuckles settling into the small-town home of Wade with his new friends Sonic (Ben Schwartz) and Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey).
But this laidback life is not enough to fuel his desire for vengeance, for which he agrees to train Wade as his protégé. During his training, Knuckles runs into goons with weapons that are made by one of Robotnik’s former employees. They are hellbent on taking Knuckles in to further weaponize his powers. Hence, it will be interesting to see how our red alien gets his reps in while saving Earth, as he vowed.
Knuckles TV show release date
Now, the obvious question is when can you watch our fiery red speedster teach Wade the Echidna ways? As confirmed, the Knuckles TV show will be available to stream from 26th April (Friday) in the U.S. and Canada. Other regions with Paramount+ will get the show on 27th April (Saturday), whereas Japan needs to wait until later this year.
Furthermore, Paramount+ has confirmed that all six episodes of the Knuckles spin-off will drop on release day. So, get ready for vengeance and a weekend binge sesh!
