Ninja Theory’s highly anticipated survival horror game Senua’s Saga Hellblade 2 made an appearance at the Xbox Developer Direct showcase earlier this year. The new gameplay trailer showcased a bunch of in-game footage and also revealed the release date of May 21, 2024.

Senua’s fans who have been waiting for five years to embark on her next brutal journey will finally be able to do in a few days. Ninja Theory has given us more details on what to expect when the game finally hits the Game Pass and other marketplaces on May 21 in a new gameplay trailer.
You can the entire Hellblade 2 showcase from today’s Xbox Direct below:
The trailer largely focuses on Ninja Theory’s efforts to deliver us an immersive experience, be it through the binaural audio that aims to surround us with her inner voice, or the darkly gorgeous landscapes that have tons of brutal encounters waiting for us. The developers also talked about how they consulted those with “lived experiences” of such kind to make Senua’s psychosis feel more realistic than it was in the first game.
Hellblade 2, in case you’re wondering, was originally revealed at The Game Awards in 2019 with a simple teaser. We’ve since seen several looks at the gameplay, but it’s only that we’re getting an official release date. The original Hellblade continues to maintain ‘very positive’ reviews on Steam, and it remains to be seen what the sequel has in store for us in the chapter of Senua’s story.
The game will be available on the Xbox Game Pass and will be playable on both Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It’ll also be available on Steam, and you can also add it to your wishlist right now to be among the first ones to know when its release date countdown timer runs out.
