Want to step into Sung Jinwoo’s shoes to level up as a hunter, build a shadow army, and clear some dungeons? Game developer Netmarble aims to make that a reality with its new action RPG, Solo Leveling: Arise; that too soon. Today, the developer announced that the game is open for pre-registration across all platforms.
You can now head to the game’s website to pre-register if you plan on playing the game on PC. Just head to this link, select your platform as “PC” on the right, enter your email address, and click the “Pre-register” button. You can then choose to schedule to auto-install the game at launch by downloading the Netmarble Launcher.
As for Android and iOS users, you too can pre-register using the steps above. However, I recommend going to the Google Play Store and Apple App Store to pre-register.
Are there any benefits to pre-registering, you ask? Luckily, you get free rewards for it. The players will get “a Chic Black Suit Costume for Sung Jinwoo, two Mana Power Crystal for each attribute (for a total of 10), Legendary Artifact Sets, and 100,000 of Gold,” as per the official release. The developer will offer you a bonus reward as “Hunter Yoo Jinho” if you pre-register with your email.
Apart from the pre-registration going live, the developer confirmed that the game will be available in early access in Canada starting from 1:00 AM PT on March 21, 2024. The early access will only be accessible on PC and Android devices and support 6 languages (more on launch).
Solo Leveling: Arise is the first video game based on the IP of the popular Korean manhwa illustrated by the late Jang Sung-rak (aka Dubu). Chugong wrote the original light novel. It will see players take on the role of Jinwoo and play through the manhwa’s beloved tale to level up and become the Shadow Monarch.
The game adapts the manhwa’s story and even includes panels from it in cut-scenes with voice-overs. While you play as Jinwoo, you will have companions like Joohee, Song Chiyul, and others to support you in dungeons. They have their own kits and weapons, which you can assign to them. Apart from the story mode, the game also has other modes like Gates mode. So, with companions and a shadow army, you can clear gates to level up and gain a ton of rewards.
Solo Leveling: Arise has been under development for quite a long time and will finally be released later this year. Netmarble, at a recent event, stated that it believes that the Solo Leveling game, along with three other titles, will help it achieve a turnaround in 2024. The gaming company posted an operating loss of around 69.6 billion won (~USD $52 million) in 2023.
Though the exact Solo Leveling: Arise release date hasn’t been revealed, it is confirmed to release in May 2024. This game will fulfill your dream of becoming Jinwoo and building a vast shadow army while leveling up your own stats! I can’t wait to “arise” Igris, Beru, and the like and enter dangerous dungeons to take on various monsters.
