The debut season of the Solo Leveling anime concluded today with Jinwoo taking the first step to becoming an even more powerful hunter. Leveling up from an E Rank hunter to the Monarch of Shadows in 12 episodes, Jinwoo’s journey has been full of fierce enemies and mountainous challenges. However, in the end, he is able to ‘arise’ Igris to start building his shadow army. If you are eager to know what comes next, you might not have to wait long as Solo Leveling Season 2 has officially been announced.
Solo Leveling anime renewed for Season 2
Moments after the Solo Leveling Season 1 finale was broadcast, I was ecstatic to see the X post (aka tweet) below pop up in my notifications.
With a promotional video, the production staff confirmed that the anime series is getting a second season. It is officially titled – Solo Leveling Season 2: Arise from the Shadow. You can check out the PV below that shows the “Season 2 Confirmed” text at the end.
Solo Leveling Season 2 potential release date
The teaser video above only confirms that we are getting a second season. A release date, or even a release window, is yet to be revealed by the production studio.
However, we do have a hint as to when we can expect to see Jinwoo fight monsters and level up once again. In an interview, Choi Won-young, the CEO of D&C Media (the biggest manhwa publisher in South Korea) revealed back in January that Solo Leveling Season 2 is “also scheduled to air within the year.”
So, could Solo Leveling Season 2 be part of the Fall 2025 anime lineup? We will have to wait and find out.
What manhwa chapters will Season 2 adapt?
The first season of the Solo Leveling anime adapted the manhwa up to the Job Change Arc, where we saw Sung Jinwoo take on the Blood Red commander Igris and defeat him after some struggles. Jinwoo then had a job change from Assassin to Necromancer and got the ability to build a shadow army, starting with Igris.
That said, the first season of the anime adapted 45 chapters in 12 episodes.
If we consider that the next season will have a similar pacing and episode count, then it will likely adapt the manhwa from chapter 46 (Red Gate arc) to chapter 89 (Return to Demon Castle arc). So, here are the arcs that Solo Leveling Season 2 will adapt:
- Red Gate arc – chapter 46 to 55
- Demon Castle arc – chapter 56 to 61
- Retesting Rank arc – chapter 61 to 64
- Hunters Guild Gate arc – chapter 65 to 75
- Return to Demon Castle arc – chapter 76 to 89
Since we haven’t heard from the official sources yet, we suggest you take this with a grain of salt. The post-credits scene in the first season set up the Jeju Island arc, which comes right after the Return to Demon Castle arc, so we might get to see glimpses of that in the second season too.
Where can I watch Solo Leveling Season 2?
Of course, we all need to know where we can watch our hunter level up even further. And the answer is obvious. Crunchyroll has confirmed that it will stream the second season of Solo Leveling when it airs.
The release date is yet to be announced, as mentioned above. In the meantime, to fill the void left by Jinwoo’s on-screen absence, you will soon be able to step into his shoes with the Solo Leveling: Arise and become a hunter that levels up. Solo Leveling: Arise is said to release in May 2024 and will see you play through the story of the manhwa.
