Yes, it’s finally happening. Stellar Blade has officially gone gold, meaning the game will stay true to its schedule and arrive on the PlayStation 5 on April 26. The news about the game going gold was revealed by Stellar Blade’s official post on X, showcasing a picture of the dev team posing for a photo.
“We’re a little late with this post. GONE GOLD,” the caption accompanying the picture said. Here, take a look:
For the uninitiated, this essentially means that the primary development work is now complete, and the game is now ready to ship via various channels to be sold at retail. This also means that the changes made to the title going forward would be shipped in the form of pre-launch or day one patches.
As somebody who finished playing the demo I can confidently say that the game appears to be in good shape. The entire demo played very smoothly from start to finish with no issues whatsoever, and all the gameplay elements worked as intended. I am sure the team is well aware of the issues that may have popped up outside the scope of the demo, and it’s been taken care of. In fact, the game’s director Kim Hyung-Tae has already confirmed a day-one patch for Stellar Blade with some updates.
Stellar Blade is going to be a fun game
My early impressions of the game will go live on the site soon, but I just wanted to quickly highlight that I had a lot of fun playing the demo. It felt a little short and left me wanting to play more, but that’s also a good sign and means that I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. I believe it’s going to be fun filling the shoes of Eve as she goes head-to-head with the Naytiba enemies.
Stellar Blade is coming to the PlayStation 5 on April 26, and it’s currently available for pre-orders starting at $70. There’s no official word on the game’s arrival on PC or Xbox X|S just yet.
