Ahead of the Stellar Blade demo release on March 29, media outlets got the opportunity to play the two-hour demo and speak with the game’s developers, Shift Up. This action-adventure game is said to be closer to Sekiro in terms of combat with engaging character development. This accelerates the game’s hype among Stellar Blade fans, but sadly, they won’t be able to capture Eve’s backside due to the lack of a photo mode at launch.
In a recent interview with the Japanese publication Famitsu, Stellar Blade director Hyung-Tae Kim confirmed that the game will arrive without a photo mode. He revealed that the development team is currently focused on polishing the game. The team likely does not have the resources or the time to make this a reality only a month before launch.
As someone who defended the developer’s decision to focus heavily on designing Eve’s backside, this is indeed disappointing. However, Kim in the interview mentioned that he’s always open to player feedback and has an ear to the ground.
So, if players make enough requests and call for the developer to add a photo mode, as they should, Shift Up’s devs might look into it. There’s no guarantee, though. So, Stellar Blade having a photo mode even after launch is up in the air right now.
Right now we are concentrating on the development of the main game, so we don’t have a photo mode ready. If we receive requests from users, we will do our best to respond to them.

Additional details for the game have also come to light, thanks to the hands-on previews shared by different publications. Eve’s skin suit, which became the talk of the town after demo footage was leaked earlier in March, is activated once you take off her costume in-game.
Moreover, the game isn’t just a hack n’ slash experience with offensive moves but also emphasizes dodge, evasion, parrying, and other defensive actions. There is also a wide variety of bosses that may feel challenging and fun. I mean, GamesRadar’s Austin Wood fought the boss at least 20 times in a row, staying up until 1:00 AM. So, the developers might have done something right to have a player engaged and intrigued for so long.
Stellar Blade is exclusive to PlayStation 5 and launches on April 26, 2024.
