Ever since we learned Tron 3 has started filming, several details for the upcoming movie, including its stipulated release window and name, have been revealed. Officially dubbed Tron: Ares, the third installment in the Tron movie series is set to release in 2025 and the filming is currently underway in Vancouver, Canada. And now, several set photos as well as videos of Jared Leto, Greta Lee, and others from the Tron 3 set have surfaced online.
First Look at Jared Leto in Ares Suit
Jared Leto, who plays the titular character Ares, and his stunt doubles have been spotted in the streets of Vancouver in character. Yeah, we got our first look at Jared Leto wearing the Ares suit in all its red-striped glory and the triangular disc on his back.
The set photos of Leto in the Ares costume were shared by X user @CaptCanuck66 and we get to see him walking into a building with Greta Lee in the video below. There is also the video of the Ares suit in the dark, which makes the red of the costume stand out. But, what is that building they enter, you ask? More details on that are below.
Encom Tower Entrance Pictured
Yes, the Tron Ares set photos that have leaked on X (formerly Twitter) also feature the ENCOM Tower. The signature ENCOM insignia with its bold letter and white light with a blue backlight can be spotted on the outside of the tower.
We not only get a look at the outside of the tower but also the interior, thanks to another X user Teresa Lu. In her X post, she reveals that the lobby of Bentall 5 (a 35-floor skyscraper located in Downtown Vancouver) has been upgraded to the ENCOM headquarters. And as a nod to longtime Tron fans, we can see the Space Paranoids game that Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges) developed and was stolen by the first film’s villain Ed Dillinger. He fought hard to uncover the truth in the original Tron movie (1982).

In addition, we also see other cast members of Tron Ares, including Greta Lee and Hasan Minhaj in some other set photos posted on X. There’s also a few videos showing a couple of different futuristic-looking cars. They look like they’ve been teleported from a game to the real world with Ares, being used for stunts in Tron 3’s filming. Two stand-ins for Leto were spotted on set as well.
If you are out of the loop, Tron Ares is the third installment in the Tron series that is being made 14 years after the Legacy film. This movie is a ‘soft reboot’ of the Tron universe and will see a sentient AI, Ares, travel to the real world from the digital world. His motivations? Still unknown. You will have to wait for more leaks or until 2025 to see what comes of it.
Tron Ares is set to release in 2025, possibly December 19, 2025, and has an amazing cast with Jared Leto, Evan Peters (possibly playing Ed Dillinger Jr), Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, Cameron Monaghan, and Gillian Anderson.
