Four years after its original launch on PC, Riot’s popular shooter is hitting Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. This was confirmed yesterday via an official announcement during the Summer Game Fest. There is no release date set in stone for the game’s arrival on the consoles just yet, but Riot says the game will be available in a limited beta starting on June 14th.
Valorant beta release date
When can you play the Valorant beta on consoles
The Valorant beta for consoles starts on June 14, 2024 at 4PM ET. We don’t know for how long Riot Games plans to run the beta for, but I’d imagine it’ll be here for at least a few weeks, if not more. There’s also a good chance the beta may run until the game’s official release later this year without any downtime, although there’s no official confirmation on that.
Valorant beta regions
Where can you play the Valorant beta on consoles
The Valorant beta for consoles will be available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Japan. It’ll be playable on both the Xbox Series X/S and the PlayStation 5. Riot says the game’s beta could roll out to other regions shortly, but don’t expect it to be available on the last-gen consoles.
How to sign up for Valorant beta on consoles
A simple step-by-step guide
Signing up for the Valorant beta to be able to play on consoles is fairly simple. All you really have to do is head to the game’s official website and register. Here’s how:
- Head to beta.playvalorant.com.
- Click the Register Now button, and sign in with your account.
- As soon as you login, the webpage will show you a confirmation screen, and also send you a confirmation email.
Will Valorant have crossplay?
Riot Games has confirmed that there will be no crossplay between console and PC players for “competitive integrity” reasons. That being said, you can access the same account on all platforms to share the inventory access across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The same goes for progression, too, as it is something that’s tied to individual accounts.
As for content releases and patches, Riot Games has confirmed that it’ll release skins, agents, patches, and other live service-related updates simultaneously on all platforms.
This is huge for Riot Games
Valorant launching on the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 is actually huge for both Riot Games and the game itself. Valorant already has a huge following and playerbase, which is only going to increase now that it’ll be available for more people to play. I also like that there will be no crossplay, as it’ll ensure the players have fun playing without having to deal with skill gap or any input-related advantages.
This, by the way, isn’t the only Valorant news that we saw this week. I say that because we also saw some news surrounding the mobile version of Valorant getting approval in China, which now makes a mobile launch imminent. There is no official confirmation on that game either, but the mobile gaming community is already pretty pumped about it.
Hey people!!!!!
