I first heard about VALORANT mobile a couple of years ago when the game was said to be in development. The radio silence following the original rumor made me believe the game was scrapped, but it looks like it’s happening after all. Yes, it looks like we are indeed getting a mobile version of the popular first-person tactical hero shooter game called VALORANT: Operation Primal.
There’s no official confirmation on this just yet, but there are some strong reasons to believe that the game is well on its way. This particular topic quickly became the talk of the town when the news about a game called “Valorant: Operation Primal” was approved by the National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) in China. The document released by NPPA had a total of 13 entires, one of which highlighted this game under the “Mobile” category.
It was brought to light by a user who goes by the name of @subzidite2 on X. Here, take a look:
The same user also shared the existence of the a profile on X with username @operationprimal. We don’t know if it’s the official channel of the game on X, but it was created back in January 2022.
So why should we care about a game getting approved in China, you ask? Well, it’s believed that Riot Games was waiting for the game’s approval in China, so it can launch the game globally and have Chinese players join and play it at the same time with everyone, too. You see, China is a pretty big market for mobile gaming and I’m sure Riot Games wouldn’t want to miss out on such a huge market for its game, which is also likely to have some sort of a competitive scene similar to PUBG Mobile.
There’s no release date set in stone for VALORANT mobile just yet, but I’m expecting it to happen soon. I’ll keep my peeled for the same, so stay tuned.
