One of my most anticipated anime for 2024, Wind Breaker, finally has a release date, and I’m ready to brawl. The anime adaptation of the action-brawler manga “Wind Breaker” by Satoru Ni was first revealed last year with an April 2024 premiere window. Now, we have received an exact release date, along with the opening and ending theme songs, a new trailer, and the cast details.
Wind Breaker Anime Release Date and Time
The animation studio, Cloverworks, revealed today that Wind Breaker is set to premiere on April 4, 2024, at 12:26 AM JST (effectively April 5) on Japanese TV stations. The team has also announced a pre-screening event for fans in Japan.
The latest trailer expands on the existing teaser, introducing us to the primary cast while showing minimal brawling to keep it under wraps. The trailer has the opening and ending theme songs playing in the background, and they are:
- Opening song: Zettai Reido (Absolute Zero) by natori
- Ending song: Muteki (Invincibility or Unbeatable) by Young Kee
Both artists shared an official statement on their participation in the OP and ED tracks of the anime. “It’s an honor that I will be in charge of the opening theme song. I was originally watching the original work every week without fail, so I’m very honored. This song was created for them to grow with a passion that can burn up even absolute zero,” said natori.
Young Kee said in the official statement, “The fragile and painfully kind heart of the main character, Haruka Sakura, really resonated with me and touched my heart. And the song “Invincibility” was written. I think this song is perfect for Bofurin, who fights for someone important to him even though he is in tatters.”

If it’s your first time hearing about Wind Breaker, here’s the official synopsis for it,
Where the average scores are the lowest, but the fights are the strongest. Furin High School is renowned as a super school of delinquents. Haruka Sakura, a first-year student, came from outside the city to fight to the top.
However, Furin High School has become a group that protects the town called the “Chime of the Wind Breaker” – Bofurin.
So, are you looking forward to Wind Breaker? Though the anime may not have time travel like Tokyo Revengers, I sure am excited to see how Bofurin fights and keeps his city clean of those who wish to disrupt its peace.
